2006 Christopher's Cabernet Sauvignon

Christopher's Cabernet Sauvignon comes from block 82, which at 2,400 feet, is the highest elevation block on the estate. Its meager, rocky soils coupled with maritime breezes, ample sunshine and the inversions layer's magic touch result in a complex spice profile (juniper, star anise) and savory plum/boysenberry fruit wrapped in dark chocolate flavors. A wine that is both gorgeously rich and firmly framed by tannins.

Accolades
Wine Enthusiast Magazine, Cellar Selection, Top 100 Wines 2010

"Hard mountain tannins characterize this Cab, which was grown above 2,000 feet in the Mayacamas. It's hugely deep in blackberries and black currants, with notes of dark chocolate and violets. Meanwhile, 100% new French oak adds an elaborate layer of smoky caramel and char that's entirely in keeping with the wine's volume. Impressive and flashy, but immature, this wine requires cellaring. Best 2012-2018. - S.H. (9/1/2010) - 96 pts."
