The grapes for this wine come from three different vineyard block, all at elevations of 2,400 feet above sea level on our Alexander Mountain Estate overlooking the Alexander Valley. The lean, rocky and well-draining soil at this elevation results in smaller fruit that is densely colored and intensely flavored. Tasting Notes: "This 2003 Three Block has an intense, dark ruby and purple color that is typical of fruit from this vineyard. Hints of spice and chocolate on the nose give way to dark berry, black cherries and cassis fruit on the palate.
