Tasting Notes:
"This bold yet elegant wine shows impressively in its youth and will continue to
evolve and improve well into the next decade. Anticipate aromas of spicy black
cherry, blackberry and coffee with vibrant flavors reminiscent of cedar and
cassis complementing the smoky toastiness." - Graham Weerts, Winemaker
Acclaim:
90 Points - Stephen Tanzer, Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, May 2004
88 Points - Robert M. Parker Jr., Wine Advocate, March 2005
Estate Vineyard Sources:
The 2001 Legacy, the 12th vintage of this Bordeaux-style varietal blend, began
with seven lots of carefully selected wine produced mainly from Alexander
Mountain Estate fruit. Individual barrels of wine were chosen for their depth,
complexity and concentration of dark fruit flavors and aromatics, and for their
opulent texture. Finally, the wine was aged in 88% new French oak for a total of
14 months. Bottled unfiltered.
