"Barrel Construction and its Influence on Wine"
Cooperage, the art of barrel making, is an ancient and highly technical skill. Despite modern advances , the actual barrel making process has changed very little and must still be performed by the hands of a skilled cooper. Learn about cooperage and its influence on the winemaking process with Mark Heinemann of Demptos Napa Cooperage. Tuition is $25 dollars.

Have you ever tasted a wine that just didn't seem right? Maybe it smelled musty like a wet newspaper, or worse yet, like your neighbor's compost pile. Changes are you had a flawed wine. Students in this interactive class led by wine educator and sommelier Sandi Lucchesi will learn to identify common wine flaws and find out what causes them. Tuition is $30.
